Affordable and simple-to-implement measurement sensor
03 August 2026
IN MODERN warehousing, logistics and manufacturing environments, accurate package dimensioning is a critical requirement for efficient automated sorting and material handling.

As throughput demands continue to increase, reliable dimensional data helps ensure that parcels of all sizes, from small cartons to larger packages, are identified, positioned and routed correctly, reducing handling errors while maximising operational efficiency.
At the heart of this process is the Contrinex Smart Camera 3D, which leverages advanced Time of Flight (ToF) technology to capture precise real-time measurements of a package's length, width, height and orientation. By providing accurate 3D dimensional data, the camera enables automated sorting systems to make rapid decisions regarding package positioning and routing, supporting consistent and error-free operation across the entire handling process.Affordable and Simple-to-Implement Measurement Sensor
To simplify deployment, the Smart Camera 3D is complemented by the Smart Vision App, featuring a ready-to-use Object Sizing algorithm. Designed for fast implementation, the application includes an intuitive no-code configuration wizard that allows users to commission measurement applications in just a few steps, eliminating the need for specialist machine vision knowledge or software development expertise.
During setup and operation, live camera imagery displays each detected object together with its measured dimensions in millimetres. Operators can instantly verify measurements for packages of varying sizes while simultaneously viewing the object's orientation angle. This additional positional information can be used to optimise conveyor alignment and improve downstream handling accuracy.
